The video, professionally produced and narrated, was given to the legislators with a cover letter. The letter explains that while some legislators have personally toured a chiropractic college and have been impressed with the quality of chiropractic education and its facilities, many legislators have not had that opportunity.
The letter goes on to say that during the current health care debate, inaccurate information has been presented about chiropractic: "We want you to know the facts. Chiropractic is scientifically grounded, proven both safe and effective, and its doctors are professionally trained for primary care."
The letter closes by directing the legislator to contact the ACA for further information.
The Kansas Chiropractic Association has also sent the video to the chiropractic state associations, making their intention known to have all state lawmakers (7,461) view the video.
The KCA Video Production Committee is chaired by James Edwards, DC, KCA PAC treasurer; Darrell Fore, DC, KCA president; Judy Pope, KCA legal counsel; Ed McKenzie, DC, KCA board member; and Joe Furjanic, KCA executive director.
