Key Researcher Dr. John J. Triano to Speak at MPI Advanced Seminar in Oahu

By Editorial Staff

It is with extraordinary pride that we are able to announce that John J. Triano, M.A., D.C., will be addressing the attendees of MPI's 1991 Advanced Seminar in Oahu February 17-23, 1991.

Many in the chiropractic profession are already familiar with the impressive accomplishments of Dr.

Triano. Whether one has had the privilege of hearing Dr. Triano lecture or teach, or whether one has read one of his long list of published articles or papers, there are none who would argue that Dr. Triano is indeed, one of the greatest contributors to the advancement of valid scientific chiropractic research.

Dr. Triano completed his undergraduate education at Broward Junior College in 1969 before he decided to enroll in Palmer College of Chiropractic. He then went on to Logan Chiropractic College, where he earned his B.S. and D.C. degrees in 1973. In addition to the rigors of running a private practice, since that time, he has devoted his career to the study and validation of chiropractic methods, while serving in various related positions to the field of research. Dr. Triano is currently the Chief of Staff of Clinics-Professor at the National College of Chiropractic. He also serves as editorial consultant to the widely-acclaimed research journals, the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics and the Journal of Canadian Chiropractic Association, Chiropractic Sports Medicine, and DC Tracts.

Dr. Triano has also been engaged as a consultant by the U.S. Department of Labor and the OSHA Training Institute. And in a giant stride for the profession, he, along with only three other chiropractors, was nominated to be on the RAND Corporation Expert Opinion Panel on Standards of Care in Chiropractic. The first report on the consensus panel process should be available in the scientific literature in 1991. His very busy career is also occupied with his efforts as a research investigator for Rehabilitation Research and Development Center at the Hines Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hines, Illinois.

In addition Dr. Triano is recognized for many notable presentations, at universities, associations, and conferences throughout the world, including the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, the North American Spine Society, the American Society of Biomechanics. His knowledge and expertise has been sought out by his peers and colleagues who have awarded him such honors as: the Hugh B. Logan Award for Scholastic and Clinical Excellence at Logan College of Chiropractic Honors; Outstanding Young Chiropractor by the Colorado Chiropractic Association; and most recently, the Chiropractic Researcher of the Year Award by the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER). His solid background in electromyography, ergonomics, and spinal biomechanics has lent itself to his remaining in popular demand as a consultant and lecturer throughout the profession.

This spring Dr. Triano has agreed to address the MPI Advanced Seminar in Makaha. His topics of presentations will include: conservative management of idiopathic scoliosis patients; current research on manipulation biomechanics; and assessment and management of the chronic back patient. We are very excited that he will be joining our group of speakers in Hawaii.

Makaha, on the island of Oahu, is the Hawaii you've always dreamed about and more -- and we know that this year's advanced seminar promises to be a sell-out! That's because this year's seminar is being offered at such an unbelievable price. In fact, it's $600 less per couple than last year.
