Dr. W. M. Marcussen, chairman of the Board of Regents for the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (LACC), announces the appointment of a new president at the college.
Dr. Reed Phillips, D.C., Ph.D., D.A.C.B.R., the director of Research at LACC, has been named acting president until the appointment of a permanent president.
Dr., Phillips has served as president of both the (Pacific) Consortium for Chiropractic Research and the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology, and as research director for the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER).

It should be noted that when LACC needed someone for this position of great responsibility, they relied upon a member of the research community. This is an analogy of what is currently taking place within the entire chiropractic profession: chiropractic is relying more and more on its researchers.
It should also be noted that not only are almost all of the chiropractic colleges placing a much stronger emphasis on research, but a few of the other college presidents are actually personally involved in current research. The trend appears to be the heralding of chiropractic's second century.
