"After serious consideration, I came to the conclusion that Dr. Richard Brassard would be the perfect fit for this mission, and gave this recommendation to the board of regents," explained Dr.
When Dr. Brassard takes over as president in 2004, Dr. Elliott will hold the position of president emeritus for two years, at which point he will have the option of retiring anytime thereafter.
Dr. Elliott's family is closely aligned with the chiropractic profession. His brother Horace has been the executive director of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners since 1986, and brother Orbie is a retired chiropractor residing in Olathe, Kansas.
Dr. Brassard has been a member of the TCC Board since 1999, and is an old acquaintance of Dr. Elliott. "I am looking forward to working alongside my good friend, Dr. Shelby Elliott," said Dr. Brassard. "I'm totally committed to the college, just as he is," he added.
