On Saturday night, attendees gathered for a pictorial tribute to chiropractors who donated time for 9-11. Following the slide presentation, a letter from former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was read aloud. The letter thanked "the countless chiropractors who volunteered their time and hard work to the rescue effort at Ground Zero."
The weekend-long convention featured numerous distinguished speakers and prominent members of the chiropractic community, including Dr. D.D. Humber, ICA president; Janet Jordan, COCSA executive director; Dr. Thomas Ventimiglia, head of postgraduate education at New York Chiropractic College; and Drs. Robert DeBonis and Margaret Verhagen, members of the New York State Chiropractic Board. Dr. John F. Przybylak, the convention's master of ceremonies and western New York district president, was given the Council's "Beacon Award" as New York's chiropractor of the year."The sense of unity was so strong, it was the best chiropractic event I've attended since we received our licenses in 1963," enthused convention attendee Pasquale Cerasoli, DC. The 2003 New York Chiropractic Council convention, themed "A Chiropractic Winter Holiday in New York," is scheduled for Dec. 12-14.
