Teaching the Business of Chiropractic

Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) has announced the creation of a "Business Success Initiative" designed in partnership with NCMIC that will allow the university to "develop and expand its business curriculum to better prepare its students and alumni to be successful health care practitioners."

Expected to launch its first courses in fall 2023, the initiative will include elected and required courses, co-curricular opportunities and innovative resources based on "validated success factors for thriving health care," according to NWHSU. Topics to be included in the new curriculum include professionalism, ethics, practical business competencies and financial literacy," utilizing some of NCMIC's existing online courses.

"We are so grateful to NCMIC for its work in this area, and we're thrilled to work together to ensure NWHSU graduates are successful health care practitioners – whether in private practice or as partners in larger health care systems."


Chiropractic Online Biology Programs Rank High

Intelligent.com's "Best Online Bachelor's in Biology Programs of 2023" includes the online programs offered by two chiropractic colleges: Logan University and Life University. Intelligent.com ranked Logan's program #3 and Life's program #6 among the top 12, which also features BS biology programs offered by a number of big-name public and private educational institutions: the University of Florida (#1), Arizona State University (#2), Florida International University (#4), WSU Global Campus (#5), Excelsior College (#7), the University of Arizona (#8), Oregon State University (#9), University of Maryland Global Campus (#10), Kean University (#11), and Bellevue University (#12).

Per Intelligent.com, the rankings were based on evaluation of "each school's program on tuition costs, admission, retention and graduation rates, faculty, and reputation as well as the student resources provided for online students."


ACA Pediatric Chiropractor of the Year: Dr. Allison Harvey

The American Chiropractic Association's Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics has named Dr. Allison Harvey the Pediatric Chiropractor of the Year for 2022. Dr. Harvey is a senior clinician in the Logan University Montgomery Health Center, and an associate professor for Logan's online Master's in Integrative Pediatrics program. She earned a BS in kinesiology from Illinois State University (2001) and her DC degree graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic (2006).
