The New Mexico Senate Judiciary Committee has voted 5-2 against House Bill 127, legislation that, by all accounts, would have allowed appropriately trained N.M. doctors of chiropractic to practice with unprecedented scope – particularly with respect to prescriptive privileges – subject to approval by the state chiropractic board. As of press time, it is unknown whether proponents of H.B. 127 plan on introducing a replacement bill into the New Mexico legislature, and if so, under what time frame it will occur.
