Dr. Golden's work also changed the chiropractic profession. She was one of the first DCs to enjoy the success of implementing chiropractic care as part of a child's multidisciplinary health care team. She didn't say, "Chiropractic care should be used instead of this or that." She said, "Chiropractic care should be used in addition to this or that." Today, when alternative health care options are more common than in Dr. Golden's time, we look back at her work and see it as cutting-edge. She created a multidisciplinary facility centered around chiropractic care.
There are about 60,000 chiropractors in the United States. Less than 1,000 contribute to Kentuckiana Children's Center.
