The FSCO further honored Dr. Campanale by naming her "Chiropractor of the Year."
Dr. Campanale, a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Straight Chiropractic and a member of the school's faculty from 1992 to 1994, has been in private practice in Levittown, Pennsylvania with Dr. Joe Strauss since 1993.
Dr. Campanale is the editor for the Foundation for the Advancement of Chiropractic Education (FACE), which has published a series of books on straight chiropractic by Joseph Strauss,DC, referred to as the "Blue Books." She is also editor of the Journal of Straight Chiropractic.
Dr. Campanale's work with the FSCO includes six years as the organization's secretary, chairperson of the fundraising committee, and co-chair of the Triune/continuing education committee. She recently created a chiropractic activity book for children for the FSCO.
The "Chiropractor of the Year" award was just the latest in a series of accolades Dr. Campanale has received from the FSCO. While still a chiropractic student in 1992, she received the "Unsung Hero" award, followed by the President's award in 1996 and the Triune award in 1997.
"Everything that Judy has touched or been involved in for the FSCO has turned to gold," observed Dr. Bill Decken, who received the "Chiropractor of the Year" award in 1998. "No one has worked longer or harder to help the FSCO move forward."
Dr. Campanale's plans for the FSCO include new and expanded outreach programs on chiropractic college campuses and linking chiropractic students with DCs through the federation's mentoring program.
"We have done too little for too long, both within the FSCO and within the profession as a whole," she asserts. "We simply must step up our efforts to increase awareness of vertebral subluxations in the public and the absolute necessity of correcting them for a fuller expression of life.
"It is also critical that we educate and assist our fellow chiropractors so they may successfully practice in this world of dwindling third-party pay," she continued. "I plan to extend my hand to anyone willing to work together toward these goals."
