A Moment of Silence for Francisco ("Pancho") Montaño-Pizarro,DC

Francisco ("Pancho") Montaño-Pizarro,DC, passed away March 28, 1999. A 1948 Palmer graduate, Dr. Montaño-Pizarro practiced until the 1st day of February 1999.

Dr. Montaño-Pizarro was the only son of Dr.

Francisco Montaño-Luna (PSC 1921), the first chiropractor in Mexico. He was a Palmer representative to Mexico and Latin America and was involved in the Palmer International Alumni Association. He was a personal friend to B.J. and Mabel Palmer. He served as president of the AMQ Asociacion Quiropractica de Quiropracticos for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Fina, and four children, three of which are chiropractors. The eldest child is Ofonly Josefina, followed by Francisco Montaño III,DC (Palmer '79); Maria Mercedes Montaño de D'acosta,DC (Palmer '80); and Eduardo Montaño,DC (Sherman '84). Fourteen grandchildren, seven boys and seven girls, are also left behind; several of them are considering becoming chiropractors.
