Life U. Agrees to Provide Finnish Olympians with Chiropractic

Dr. Sid Williams, Life University founder and president, signed an agreement with the Finnish Olympic Committee to allow his school and international training institute to provide chiropractic to Finland's olympic athletes for the 2000 and 2002 Olympic Games.

"During the Nagano Games (1998 Winter Olympics), one of the Finnish team's best athletes was injured.

The Finns went looking for a chiropractor to take care of him, but couldn't find one in Japan. Now they want to make sure that doesn't happen again," explained Mike Spino, Life's director of the international sports training institute.

Finnish Olympic athletes will have chiropractic services during pre-olympic events. A Life chiropractic team will be present during the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in 2000.

Beginning later this year, Life will conduct a research study on the effects of jet lag on athletic performance, and how chiropractic care can help athletes return to peak performance.

Life Basketball Coach Inducted into Hall of Fame

Roger Kaiser, Life University athletic director and the men's basketball coach, was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in March during the athletic association's annual hall of fame banquet in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Coach Kaiser earned the NAIA's highest honor after 28 years in the coaching profession, which included 20 years as head coach at West Georgia College.

In 1990, Kaiser joined Life University with the challenge of beginning a new basketball program from scratch. He has led Life to a 243-45 record and seven consecutive trips to the NAIA tournament, including national championships for the Running Eagles in 1997 and 1999.

Overall, Kaiser is third on the list of most wins among active NAIA coaches and ranks among the top 10 in winning percentage. Since beginning his tenure at Life, coach Kaiser's teams have averaged 30 wins per season.

Dr. Sid Williams had the honor of introducing coach Kaiser at this year's hall of fame festivities.
