CCCLA Professor Named SORSI "Doctor of the Year"

By Editorial Staff
Cecilia Anderson, DC, a 1979 Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles (CCCLA) graduate and professor, was presented the "Doctor of the Year" award in October from the Sacro Occipital Research Society International (SORSI) at the SOT/Cranial seminar in Omaha, Nebraska.

The honor is in recognition of Dr. Anderson's 16 years of service to SORSI, including her service on the SORSI board of directors and board of examiners.

Palmer West up to the Challenge

The Foundation for the Advancement of Chiropractic Education (FACE) in Alpharetta, Georgia, recently presented Palmer West with a "challenge grant" of $20,000 to assist the college with the purchase of new computers and the ADAM (animated dissection of anatomy for medicine) software program, a multi-media interactive educational tool that comprehensively simulates the human anatomy. Contributions from Palmer West faculty, staff, and alumni helped the college meet the challenge to raise the necessary $20,000 to match FACE's gift.

Dr. William Harris, president and founder of FACE, presented the check to Palmer West during his quarterly visit to the college, where for the past two years he has been a guest speaker in Palmer West's practice development program.

Since its founding in 1978, FACE has contributed more than $3.2 million toward the funding of chiropractic research projects, construction of academic buildings, and research centers.
