"We are delighted to work with the University of Waterloo in developing this unique project," said Dr. Vernon. "A joint research clinic will not only enhance chiropractic research, but will also broaden the scope of scientific investigation within the university environment."
CMCC faculty from the divisions of research and graduate studies attended the official opening of the University of Waterloo's B.C. Matthews Hall, which will house the joint clinic. The hall's construction involved building an extension to the faculty of applied health sciences and renovation to the existing building. This $2.45 million project was completed under the Canada/Ontario Infrastructure Works program, with the federal and provincial governments contributing $1.23 million and the University of Waterloo providing the balance. The new facilities will provide clinical research areas for the prevention of illness and injury risk reduction. CMCC will provide the chiropractic equipment and the chiropractic faculty for the joint research clinic which will be part of these new facilities.
