The book's author, C. Randall Heuston, has been an award-winning journalist for two decades at the Quad-City Times in Davenport. In Mr. Heuston, the CCF planners found what they were looking for: a professional journalist who had written for and about chiropractic. Early in the centennial year, Mr. Heuston wrote four ads for Palmer University, focusing on chiropractic's determination and integrity. One of the often-quoted lines from his Palmer ads was, "What should we do when the lion roars? Roar back."
