Stephen Covey to Speak at Washington Centennial Celebration

By Editorial Staff
The Chiropractic Centennial Foundation (CCF) has announced that motivational lecturer and author Stephen Covey will be on hand at this year's July 5-9 chiropractic centennial celebration in Washington, D.C. His half-day program, "Independence and Interdependence in Chiropractic Practice," will relate how the tenants of his best selling book apply to chiropractors. Stephen Covey's book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," has been on the New York Times best seller list for nearly four years.

Continuing education programs and workshops will also be offered, covering a wide variety of subjects: history, technique, clinical applications, and business management.

Stephen Covey is the founder and chairman of Covey Leadership Center and the nonprofit Institute for Principle-Centered Leadership, an international firm that works to motivate people to increase their performance, organizational, and leadership capabilities. He has taught leadership and management principles for 25 years to leaders in business, government and education, including executives from more than half of the Fortune 500 companies. His numerous books and articles also address personal growth and family/interpersonal relationships. (Stephen and wife Sandra have nine children, surely a testament to effective family management.)

Mr. Covey's education includes an MBA from Harvard and a PhD from Brigham Young University (PhD), where he is an adjunct professor in the school of management.

"Covey has risen above his peers," said Dr. Carl Cleveland III, committee chairman of the CCF's education committee. "He doesn't rely on gimmicks for success, but principles of personal growth and leadership that produces lasting results."

The program for the Washington, D.C., celebration is packed: speakers, ceremonies, parties, golf tournament, concerts, theater, and international displays of chiropractic memorabilia, and the topping -- the Saturday night grand celebration.
