Dr. Adams is the sole chiropractor of the 21 faculty members involved in the Harvard course, "Alternative medicine: implications for clinical practice," which will be taught March 30-April 1 in Boston. Alterative medical therapies are defined as those that are not usually taught in medical schools in the United States and are unavailable in U.S. hospitals, including chiropractic, homeopathy, and acupuncture.
Dr. Adams will be lecturing on the efficacy of chiropractic manipulation, along with Paul Shekelle, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine at the UCLA medical center, and senior natural scientist at the RAND Corporation.
"This is a great opportunity for us at LACC to be included in teaching a course such as this," said Dr. Adams. "It strengthens our position on chiropractic as viable, cost-effective collaborative health care."
