Nutri-West Becomes CCF Corporate Sponsor

By Editorial Staff
Nutri-West, a division of the Nutrition Center, Inc., has joined the Chiropractic Centennial Foundation (CCF) as a $1,000 corporate sponsor.

"We are pleased to see different corporations supporting the grand celebration," said Rick Flaherty, chair of CCF fundraising and sponsorship efforts.

"In the last two months we've received corporate, DC, and individual donations of more than $3,000."

According to Mr. Flaherty, the CCF has received at least 50 DC and individual sponsorships in the last month. "We're happy with the overwhelming positive support from those who have opened their hearts to chiropractic's upcoming Centennial Celebration," he said.

Missouri Assoc. Donates $5,000

The Missouri State Chiropractic Association (MSCA) is showing support for the CCF by donating proceeds of its continuing education seminars.

Both Homer Thompson, DC, the MSCA liaison to the CCF, and George Carson, DC, also of the MSCA, have donated their time to conduct continuing education seminars for Missouri license renewal. The seminar fees were donated to the CCF.

"We were pleased with the turnout at the last seminar," said Dr. Thompson. "We raised $5,000 for the CCF."

Dr. Thompson hopes to have four more seminars in 1994, and is planning a balloon race for the Missouri State Convention in June, with proceeds going to the CCF. "I'm just doing my part to stir up interest," said Dr. Thompson.

Dr. Holmberg pointed to the important link that state association liaisons like Dr. Thompson make to the CCF: "I'd like to commend Dr. Thompson and Dr. Carson for their efforts in support of the Chiropractic Centennial Foundation in the state of Missouri," said Dr. William F. Holmberg, CCF president. "Not only does the CCF appreciate the funds they've helped raise, but we appreciate the time they are donating."

The CCF continues to encourage state associations to appoint liaisons. If your state association does not have a liaison, please contact:

National Associations Support CCF

As the CCF gears up for the 1995 celebration, the national chiropractic associations are showing their support.

National association leaders who are trustees of the Centennial Foundation include: Kerwin Winkler, DC, vice president of marketing, representing the American Chiropractic Association (ACA); Michael Hulsebus, DC, vice president of planning, representing the International Chiropractors Association (ICA); and Louis Latimer, DC, secretary, representing the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE).

Other trustees from national organizations include David Chapman-Smith, chair of the entertainment committee, representing the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC); and Carl Cleveland III, DC, chair of the education committee, representing the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC). Mr. Chapman-Smith and Dr. Cleveland recently finished organizing the scientific research awards.

"We have a combination of people who are second to none," said Dr. Holmberg. "Not only are they working hard within the CCF, but they are making their own organizations aware of the CCF, and getting them involved."
