Dr. Takeyachi made the donation at the 5th Clinical and Educational Symposium on Chiropractic held in Kagoshima, Japan November 2-4. Dr. Phillips was at the symposium as a guest lecturer.
Michigan DC Reappointed as ICA Representative on CCE Commission
Dr. John A. Hofmann of Allen Park, Michigan, was recently reappointed to serve as the ICA's representative on the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE)'s Commission on Accreditation. Dr. Hofmann has served in this post since 1988, having previously been the ICA's representative from 1982-1985. He has also served as secretary to the Commission on Accreditation, as a member of the Panel on Ethics, a member of the Panel on State Affairs, and as chairman of the Commission's Panel on Preceptorship.
Dr. Hofmann is a 1968 graduate of Logan Chiropractic College, served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, and has been in private practice since 1972. He was co-founder of the Michigan Chiropractic Legal Action Committee, served as chairman of the Michigan Chiropractic Council's Political Action Committee, and is a charter member of the ICA's Council on Chiropractic Imaging.
NCC President and Professor Give Presentation
National College of Chiropractic (NCC) President Dr. James Winterstein and Anatomy professor Dr. William Bachop co-authored a presentation made in poster format at the Annual Meeting of the Illinois State Academy of Science. The meeting was held October 18 at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The presentation, "Plain Radiography of Rigid Transforaminal Ligaments in Human Cadavers," and its abstract appeared in the Transactions of the Illinois State Academy of Science Supplement, vol.84, p.56.
Palmer's Fund-Raiser of the Year
Dr. William F. Holmberg, vice president of Development and Alumni at Palmer College of Chiropractic, was named "Fund-Raiser of the Year" by the Quad Cities chapter of the National Society of Fund-Raising Executives. A 1955 graduate of Palmer, Dr. Holmberg has been in his current post since 1983. Since 1977, he has served as the national chairman of the Antitrust Fund-Raising Committee to support the Wilk et al. Antitrust Case, which was settled in favor of chiropractic in 1988.

Palmer Alumni President Re-elected
Dr. Michael Hulsebus was recently re-elected president of the Illinois PCC Alumni Association.
