Passaic County Community College in Paterson, New Jersey; Neumann College in Aston, Pennsylvania; and Park College in Parkville, Michigan will all offer pre-chiropractic programs for students hoping to fulfill science pre-requisites for admission to the New York Chiropractic College (NYCC).
Students from these colleges who intend to matriculate at NYCC will receive priority consideration in the admission process if they have achieved an associate of science degree in this pre-chiropractic program. The pre-chiropractic program is designed to facilitate the transition of transfer students, provide advisement for students considering chiropractic careers and provide for interaction between the institutions.
Passaic County Community College is a two-year institution granting an associates degree in liberal art and science; both Neumann College and Park College grant four-year baccalaureate and master's degrees.
NYCC Graduates Last Class from Levittown Facility
NYCC held graduation ceremonies on August 2nd, marking the last class to graduate the Levittown facility. NYCC President Dr. Kenneth W. Padgett, the board of trustees and the administration of the college officiated at the ceremony. Dr. Domenic Firriolo, vice president of academic affairs, conferred the degrees.
Class valedictorian was Glenn Robert Wilson and salutatorian was Bradley A. Williams. Distinguished Service Awards for college representation and institutional advancement went to: David N. Block, Dennis P. Cummins Jr., Christie R. Gisewhite, Beth A. Johns, Bradley A. Williams, and Glenn R. Wilson.
NYCC Hosts 68th Annual ACC Convocation
The 68th annual convocation of the American College of Chiropractors (ACC) met at NYCC on August 2nd, concurrent to the NYCC graduation ceremonies. ACC President Dr. Richard E. Carnival and ACC Vice President Dr. Charles Haas presented ACC fellowships to Dr. Richard C. Brown, Dr. Ann M. Carpenter, and Dr. Kenneth J. Laux.
The ACC is composed of the most eminent chiropractors, educators, and scientific investigators in the U.S., and is concerned with encouraging the research and advancement of chiropractic.
NYCC Dean Appointed to Council of Clinic Administrators
Dr. Alan R. Friedman, NYCC dean of Clinics, has been appointed to a two-year term as vice chair of the Council of Clinic Administrators (CCA), which is comprised of representatives from all colleges accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE).
The council discusses problems common in all chiropractic college clinics and works to standardize the CCE reporting system. Each CCA college hosts the semi-annual council meetings.
Dr. Friedman received his doctor of chiropractic degree from NYCC in 1980 and a B.A. in biology from Franklin Pierce College in 1977. He was named associate director of the Levittown clinic and in 1992 was appointed dean of clinics.
