Homeopathy is a form of medicine which was systematized by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century. His philosophy and teachings were a direct attempt to present the most radical changes to medical practice, and many of his lectures to student bodies at the universities ended with vitriol against the established methods.
It is my intention here to present some of the most recent research in homeopathy as well as its use in practice, which will project classical homeopathy into a new perspective, both in understanding and application, by its association with ionization.
It is also through the analysis procedures for the measurement of the energy reserves of the human body, as formulated by Dr. Carey Reams,1 that we have been able to develop a system of analysis and treatment which goes hand in hand with the current day understanding of quantum physics and chemistry, as well as the particle wave theory.
Ionization, or as termed by Dr. Reams, "biological ionization," is viewed as a system of analysis which measures the electromagnetic flow within the digestive tract. Such measurement is the understanding of the energy level available to each individual at any particular time. The term "energy reserve" is synonymous with the "vital force" of homeopathy.
Energy is released in a homeopathic preparation through the process of serial dilution and succussion of the homeopathic medium. The released energy of the substance is then available to the patient.
The energy pattern of the medicine is akin to the functioning of a specific organ or gland in the body. It produces a harmonic resonance which is conducive to re-establishing the corrected energy pattern to the diseased organ.
The Reams analysis test guides the practitioner in the changing status of the efficiency of the patient's metabolism, as well as the functioning of the various organs and glands.
Homeopathy and Ionization Principles
The study of homeopathy is the study of the various symptoms affecting a patient's well-being. However, the homeopathic doctor does not look only at the gross symptomology of the patient, but rather, to the total symptom pattern.
These include the psychic, mental, emotional, and physical symptoms, as well as the modes of change, termed modalities. Modalities may emphasize the symptom pattern. These may occur at a particular time regularly, or symptoms may be aggravated by cold, heat, etc.
Symptoms are regarded by the homeopath as being a disturbance to the flow of the vital force. The changing emphasis in biology from a vitalistic concept to that of mechanism is well covered by Robert O. Becker, M.D., in his book "The Body Electric"2. We see that medical science and biology are now well entrenched in the application of mechanistic principles.
Interestingly enough, the vitalistic concept still abounds throughout all of the major fields of natural healing. The vital energy underlying all life has been termed the "vital force" in homeopathy, "innate" in chiropractic, and "chi" in accupuncture.
For the homeopath, any disturbance to the flow of the vital force manifests as symptoms. By matching a symptom pattern with the overall proving of a homeopathic medicine, the physician is able to re-establish the electromagnetic pattern of the organ or organs thus affected. This is accomplished by the principle of harmonic resonance.
This principle is well-demonstrated by the harmonic resonance between two tuning forks of the same pitch. The first fork when stressed induces the second fork to resonate in harmony with the other fork.
A potentised homeopathic medicine has a specific electromagnetic field which is set up through energy release produced by serial dilution and succussion. This induces a harmonic response to the affected organ re-establishing the required pattern of function.
The Electromagnetic Man
In essence, we must now realize that man is basically a complex organism composed of energy fields which are electromagnetic in their nature and function. With human beings, changes in the personal energy field frequently occur. This can result in various symptoms manifesting and affecting our thoughts, emotional reactions, and physical well-being.
All other organs of the body, such as the liver and kidneys, are zones of energy which give the appearance of being solid.
Medicine generally perceives disease as being of a viral nature. All effort of treatment is designed to destroy the virus and cells affected. Such destruction weakens the organism even to the extent of promoting further destruction of the body.
With homeopathy, all healing is centered at maintaining the integrity of the energy pattern of the affected organism.
Professor Saxon Burr, formerly of the Yale School of Medicine, described in his theory L-fields3 that the pattern or organization of any biological system is established by a complex electrodynamic field which is, in part, determined by its atomic physiochemical components, and which in part determines the behavior and orientation of those components.
When we consider the electromagnetic basis of the human organism, as well as the vital force which organizes and stimulates the various patterns, we must only come to the conclusion that the body in health and disease is determined by the harmony which exists between these two forces. To actualize this concept, we must have a system whereby we are able to measure and analyze the changing patterns that we call disease. This method of reintegrating these patterns to normal function is accomplished by homeopathic medicine.
