The 1990 International Conference on Spinal Manipulation (ICSM), May 11-12, in Washington, DC., is certain to be the most comprehensive education and research conference ever developed by the chiropractic profession. The ICSM features an up-to-date analysis of the research occurring in chiropractic.
The Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research(FCER) received 129 abstracts in response to its call for contributed papers. Of these, 75 were selected for inclusion in the program. In addition to FCER staff evaluation, each abstract was evaluated by the four members of the 1990 ICSM Organizing Committee: Dr. Robert Hazel, editor, Chiropractic Sports Medicine; Dr. Dana Lawrence, editor, Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics; Dr. George McClelland, president, FCER board of trustees; and Dr. David Redding, FCER trustee.

No other conference in chiropractic brings practitioners and scientists together to present, discuss, and debate findings that have direct bearing on chiropractic principles, theories, and clinical approaches to health, illness, and disease. Peer review and scientific research standards were applied consistently and fairly in the selection of contributed papers, in order to ensure the highest quality in the paper sessions.
This is a conference for all members of the chiropractic profession, and a conference which encourages the representation of different philosophical points of view. In addition to the 15 research paper sessions, the 1990 ICSM will feature:

- A luncheon address by Dr. William Harris, president of Practice Consultants, Inc., who has contributed 1.1 million dollars to FCER to establish the profession's first comprehensive clinical research center
