Knowledge, passion, dedication, service - just a few of the many qualities that define the chiropractic profession and on prominent display at the Parker Seminar in Las Vegas in January. The event brought more than 3,000 chiropractors together to exchange knowledge, share their passion for serving others, and honor those who best exemplify the true spirit of chiropractic.
"Parker has been very influential in chiropractic, producing highly educated and well-rounded chiropractors who strive to provide the best chiropractic and nutritional care to their patients," said Charles DuBois, company president, who received the Philanthropy Award during the show. "It is Standard Process' honor to be able to provide Parker and Dr. Mancini with this gift."
In addition to DuBois, nine other individuals were honored for their service to the profession. Drs. Gene Orlowsky, Patrick Bodnar, James Chestnut, Ali Jafari and Thomas Rigel received the DC of the Year Award; Marie Larsson and Tammy Ducharme received the CA of the Year Award. The Woman of the Year Award, presented by the World Congress of Women Chiropractors, went to Dr. Elizabeth Anderson-Peacock, while the Biofreeze Humanitarian of the Year Award (presented by Performance Health) was given to Dr. J.C. Doornik. And at the first-ever Parker Gala, a black-tie dinner event benefiting chiropractic research and professional advancement, Dr. Ronald Rupert was inducted as the first member of the Drugless Research Hall of Fame.
An array of speakers led by Dr. Fabrizio Mancini, president of Parker College, inspired attendees with presentations on wellness, clinical case management and practice success, among other topics. Other 2009 speakers included Drs. James Chestnut, John Demartini, Patrick Gentempo, Hyla Cass, Maurice Pisciottano and Eric Plasker.
The Parker exposition hall featured 240 vendors and showcased the latest in products, techniques and services available to the chiropractic profession. Among this year's exhibitors were Foot Levelers, Standard Process, WAVE Manufacturing, Breakthrough Coaching, Activator Methods, Performance Health, Drucker Labs, Lloyd Table Co., Nutra Naturals, Future Health Software and Wellness Watchers - Greens First.
