We Have Come a Long Way – But There's a Long Way to Go

Special thanks to Don Petersen and the DC editorial staff for bestowing the "People of the Year" award on us.
Earlier this year, we attended a medical society meeting in Manhattan and heard a presentation by Woodson C. Merrell, MD, chairman of the Department of Integrated Medicine, Mount Sinai Beth Israel, New York. He lauded the chiropractic profession and its valued role at the hospital, where the DCs are on the staff. We were so gratified to hear this type of praise for the profession we have come to embrace. When we first started this initiative, it was doubtful that such accolades would be heaped upon chiropractic from a medical doctor.
Yes, we have come a long way ... but there is still a long way to go. One of our greatest satisfactions comes from no longer getting "hang ups" when we call the media – which was de rigueur at the outset.
Thank you to the foundation for trusting our judgment and guidance. We look forward to more of the same in the years ahead.

Grounded and Connected
Dear Editor:
I really like your website. You have made research articles more accessible, and I like being able to print the charts and graphs you create. I also like that the research articles link directly to the source and are print friendly. It saves me time not having to search on PubMed.
Although I do not agree with all the opinions of the authors, I think there are many subjects being brought to light that we as a profession need to address and work through. I am isolated physically and professionally. I do not make the time to connect with other doctors and many doctors do not want to be connected (for various reasons). DC keeps me grounded and connected; if you don't stay connected and grounded, you burn out. Thank you for helping our profession stay connected.
