The National by the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA), scheduled for Aug. 27-30, is being rescheduled due to rising COVID-19 cases. The FCA made the announcement July 20th, only weeks after it had submitted an event preview article to DC (which appears in our August issue with a note regarding the postponement.) Here is the bulk of the FCA's official statement including the tentative new event date, which also changes the date of the association's SW Regional convention:
Our surveys show an overwhelming majority of FCA members, past attendees and exhibiting companies asking us to keep each FCA event live and in person, as well as offer a virtual event component. We have listened, and we are seeking to serve in that exact manner, while make responsible decisions related to the current COVID crisis. As you know, COVID statistics, media reporting and government policies are currently preventing and impeding travel, and many attend and exhibit at FCA events from other states. With the very recent spike in COVID, we now find it necessary to postpone The National 2020 and are working to finalize the new date of November 5-8 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Due to the need to move The National to a later date, it became necessary to reschedule the date for SW Regional. We working to finalize the new date of October 8-11 at the Naples Grande.
Through our strong relationship with each property, we have this ability to reschedule. We want to thank both the Hyatt Regency Orlando & The Naples Grande for working so well with us to make this a seamless and easy transition to the new date for those who have already pre-registered and made their reservations for August.
And for those who feel 2020 is too soon to attend any event, we still ask you to join us this year as we offer our first-ever virtual component to conventions. This virtual option will be available with every event for the foreseeable future.
