Interactive Seminars at Palmer
Palmer College in Davenport, along with the Iowa Chiropractic Society and the state's community colleges, have started offering continuing education seminars that use the fiber optics system set up for the Iowa community colleges. Palmer's continuing education department initiated the first seminar and has worked closely with the community colleges to develop the interactive program.
Dr. Ian McLean's presentation, "Specialty Imaging: A Course for Interpreting MT and CT Scans for Chiropractors," was transmitted on December 4 and 14, 1995 from a classroom in Bettendorf to 11 other classrooms throughout Iowa.
Dr. Stephen Savoie, director of Palmer's new program development and off campus seminars, pointed out the convenience and ease of acquiring continuing education hours with this technology. "It should encourage chiropractors to continually enhance their skills. They don't have the same limitations about traveling, money, and time away from the office."
