Reaching Women Worldwide With the Chiropractic Message

By Editorial Staff

While chiropractic is recognized in certain countries more than others, the media – with a global reach in the age of social media – has maintained a love-hate relationship with the profession. On any given day, one can read an article praising chiropractic ... or questioning its safety / effectiveness.

With that said, it's always worth reporting when a media outlet tends toward the positive. Case in point: a recent article in the French edition of Marie Claire.

With a target audience of "women ages 18-44 with a median household income of $85,000," Marie Claire sets trends for women in 35 countries. The magazine's recent article on "Chiropractic, the Gentle, Expert Method of Back Pain" (English translation) speaks of how chiropractic works and the effect it can have on more than back pain.1

The author notes that, in addition to relieving back, neck and head pain, "innervation of vital organs improves, the autonomic central nervous system functions better, as does the performance of the sympathetic and para-sympathetic systems." The article even goes so far as to advise readers that "like the dentist or gynecologist, it is preferable to schedule a regular check-up of the spine in order to treat any disturbances upstream. No need to wait for the pain."

While this article appeared in the French edition of the magazine, we discovered it online and social media with an English translation readily available, giving the message global reach.
