According to Mr. Rick Flaherty, chairman of CCF fundraising and sponsorships, there are only a few sponsorships left at the $50,000 Platinum Club Crown level. Open sponsorships remain in the areas of leasing, modalities, x-ray equipment, and publishing.
"Raising this first million dollars has been a real team effort," said Mr. Flaherty. "Everyone involved has had a hand in making it happen. A million dollars worth of sponsorships says a lot about how big of a celebration this really is."
Dr. Guy Riekeman of The Quest Alliance said, "We're elated to have the opportunity to be sponsors. Quest considered one of the highest levels of contribution because of all that chiropractic has given us philosophically and financially. We wanted the profession to know that we're on board as the next generation of pioneers for the second century of chiropractic."

Dr. William F. Holmberg: In the Driver's Seat for the CCF
Having spent nearly 40 years in the chiropractic profession, CCF President Dr. William F. Holmberg finds himself coordinating one of the biggest events in chiropractic history -- the Chiropractic Centennial Celebration.
When planning for the event began eight years ago, Dr. Holmberg and his committee at Palmer decided that one priority of the organization would be to make the celebration more than just a Palmer event. "We wanted to bring people in the profession together, to work for a self-standing organization which would be responsible for producing a profession-wide celebration," said Dr. Holmberg. "The Foundation has no collegial, philosophical or political biases, and has brought together the different chiropractic factions to work as one unit."
Dr. Holmberg said that he has seen the CCF evolve from brainstorming meetings involving a handful of people, to a foundation with 10 board of trustee members, a 15-member advisory committee divided into five subcommittees, and 15 college institutional members.
"One of the biggest responsibilities of the CCF is getting the state associations and other chiropractic organizations working together, and we are accomplishing that," said Dr. Holmberg. He also continues to encourage foreign associations to become members of the CCF. Currently, foreign association members of the CCF include the Asociacion Espanola de Quiropractic, the British Chiropractic Association, the Chiropractic Council of Japan, and the Norwegian Chiropractors' Association.
Dr. Holmberg is also involved in other CCF projects ranging from continuing education, a scientific symposium, and legislative events in Davenport and Washington, D.C.
CCF Promotional Video Scheduled for Release
The CCF's video promoting the Chiropractic Centennial is near completion and is scheduled to be released this month.
According to Dr. Guy Riekeman, chair of the Media Project and Exposure Committee, "The purpose of the video is to inform people about the Centennial Celebration so they can become involved. The video has information on everything from sponsorships to registration for the 1995 event. In the next six months we'd like every chiropractor in the country to see this video."
The video explains the preparation for the event, and includes footage of the CCF board of trustees and committee members. The video also includes an actor portraying D.D. Palmer in a vignette on chiropractic's history.
"We hope that everyone who sees the video will be inspired to come "We hope that everyone who sees the video will be inspired to come together under a single banner and join this celebration," Dr. Riekeman said.
Centennial "Birthday Cards" Coming Soon
The CCF is currently sending out cards which announce the dates and locations of the Chiropractic Centennial Grand Celebration. By filling out and returning the RSVP card, the CCF can estimate the number of participants for the celebration. For those who want to RSVP by phone, the number is 1-800-DC4-1995.
"The cards will provide us the information we need to proceed with planning a large, gala event. It is not a registration, it is a preliminary count of those attending," said Dr. William Holmberg.
