Call For Abstracts 1991 International Conference on Spinal Manipulation

Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research

The Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research invites abstracts for the 1991 International Conference on Spinal Manipulation (ICSM) to be held April 12-13, 1991, in Washington, D.C.

The ICSM is an interdisciplinary conference devoted to the study of the human spine and its implications in health care.

Conference Scope

Abstracts that address one of the following general areas will be considered:

Spinal manipulative treatment for neuromusculoskeletal, neurovisceromotor, and somatovisceral health disorders.

Diagnostic and assessment procedures in the study and treatment of spine-related health conditions.

Biomechanical studies of the spine.

Neurological, physiological, and biochemical correlates of spinal disorders and their treatment.

Treatment and cost-effectiveness of chiropractic case management versus standard medical case management for selected health conditions.

Outcome measures in health care.

Epidemiological and population survey studies of
neuromusculoskeletal health conditions.

Ergonomic and occupational studies of spine-related health problems.

Suitable presentations include:

Reports of original research

Clinical case studies

Poster displays

Submission Requirements and Deadlines

Cover sheet containing the title of the presentation, authors' names, affiliations, mailing address, and telephone numbers.

Six copies of a 250 word abstract summarizing the purpose or objectives of the presentation, methodology, and findings. The title of the presentation, but not the authors' names, should appear at the top of the abstract.

A self addressed, stamped envelope.

The deadline for submission of all materials is December 3, 1990. Abstracts received after December 3 will be returned to the author.

Note: Notification of acceptance will be mailed by January 11, 1991. Authors of accepted abstracts must submit an expanded paper by February 15, 1991, to be included in the final program and published proceedings.
