Chiropractor by Day, Author by Night

Herman K. Trabish, DC, has published an historical novel, Oil in Their Blood. While maintaining a busy schedule as a practicing chiropractor in California, Dr. Trabish attributes his motivation to complete the novel to a lifelong love of story, as well as the discipline, research and writing skills he gained while enrolled at Los Angeles College of Chiropractic (now Southern California University of Health Sciences). "In becoming a doctor of chiropractic, I learned to bring process to my passion," he said.

The novel is a matriarch's remembrance of two oil industry families over three generations: In Pennsylvania, as the Civil War ends, oil industry pioneers fight to control the commodity, own the infrastructure and win wealth. In the 1890s, the Standard Oil barons of New York City are the second generation, fighting corruption and suffering roman tic tragedy as trade goes global. Finally, caught in the horrors of WWI, the third generation learns what mature love - and oil - mean to the emerging modern world.

Published through LULU.com, Oil in Their Blood is available as a print-on-demand hard text for $20.78 or as a downloadable Ebook for $6.25 on Dr. Trabish's Web site, www.oilintheirblood.com.
