Dr. James C. Drain of Stamford, Texas, formerly of San Antonio, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at the age of 88. He was born on Sept. 5, 1918 in Russell, Kan., to the late Drs. James R.
Jim was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, attended St. Mary's University and the University of San Antonio, and graduated from TCC in 1939. He first practiced chiropractic in Comanche, Texas. Jim served as a glider pilot in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he resumed his practice in Bandera, Texas, and later joined his father in practice. Their clinical offices were located at 111 Highland Boulevard in San Antonio. He was well-respected by his colleagues and lived by the principles of chiropractic.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. I know, as his daughter, that he showed me in so many ways how much he loved me. He was always there to lend an ear, offer encouragement or burst with pride.
We are left with a boatload of wonderful memories of this strong, spiritual, loving man. I treasure the close relationship we had and only hope I can continue that with my own children. He will be missed so much.
