Chiropractic Group in American Public Health Assoc. Urgently Needs Members

By Editorial Staff
The membership decline in the American Public Health Association's Chiropractic Special Interest Group is once again threatening its existence. The chiropractic group must reach the membership level of 500 by August 31, 1994. If the Chiropractic Forum is able to raise its membership to 500 and maintain it for a three-year period, it can then apply for section membership. This will give the chiropractic profession the opportunity to have two seats on the APHA Governing Council, and financial support for section activities.

APHA members receive the American Journal of Public Health, a prestigious refereed journal, and the APHA newsletters, which will keep you current on news in the health industry, and the latest on health care reform. Members also receive discounts on registration, hotel, and air fares to attend the annual APHA conference, the largest health gathering in the world with over 12,000 health professionals and government health leaders in attendance. Features of the APHA include discussions of current health issues, dissemination of research results, and presentations of scholarly papers. Chiropractors have contributed a number of presentations, workshops, and panel discussions at the last few APHA conferences. This year's conference is in Washington, D.C.

Fill out and mail the APHA application, or contact Dr. Joanne Nyiendo, membership chair: (503) 251-2809.
