CCE Accreditation for University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic

By Editorial Staff
The University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic (UBCC), the first DC degree program integrated as part of a university in the U.S., has received accreditation from the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE).

In an inter-office memorandum announcing the college's CCE accreditation, UBCC Dean Dr. Frank Zolli thanked the students "whose presence in an unaccredited program enabled the college to work its way through the professional accreditation process of the CCE." Dr. Zolli credited Neil Stern, DC, UBCC's accreditation consultant, for his wisdom and advice in helping the college achieve its goal.

"Our success ... is in part a tribute to the nation's other chiropractic colleges whose substantial programs created the basis of opportunity at the University of Bridgeport," said Dr. Zolli.

UBCC will introduce a semester-based curriculum in the fall of 1994, in which entering students will be taught for eight semesters over a period of four years. Additional plans are underway for research and postgraduate/continuing education programs.
