A Moment of Silence for Darrell Eugene Fore, DC

By Editorial Staff
Dr. Darrell Eugene Fore, 61, died Aug. 2, 2005, at his home in Overland Park, Kansas. Born Oct. 25, 1943, in Kidder, Missouri, he grew up in northwest Missouri and worked on a farm throughout his school years. He graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1967, entering practice that same year. Darrell devoted much time and energy to his practice and the advancement of the chiropractic profession. He was an active member of the High Country Chiropractic Knights of The Round Table.

Throughout his life, he served many roles in the Kansas Chiropractic Association (KCA), including the longest tenure as president (1992-1995), and chairman of the KCA Legislative Committee (1996-2003). He served as the Kansas delegate to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) from 1998 until the time of his death.

Darrell was recognized often for his hard work in the chiropractic field. In 1971, he was named Young Doctor of the Year by the KCA. In 1995, he was named the KCA's Doctor of the Year and a Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors. Additional awards include being named a Fellow of International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture; numerous KCA Presidential Commendations; an ACA Chairman's Award; and the ACA's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Darrell was always there to lend a hand to a friend in need. His patients were more like family, many having been patients for most of the 37 years he practiced. He will be greatly missed for his compassion and friendship.
