1994 European Chiropractors' Union Convention Goes to Brussels

By Editorial Staff
This year's European Chiropractors' Union (ECU) convention, co-sponsored by the Belgian Chiropractors' Union and the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER), will be held in Brussels, Belgium, May 12-14, home of the founder of motion palpation, Henri Gillet.

The convention's theme is "Chiropractic in Motion." The FCER is sponsoring the educational program for the convention, which will explore the wide range of chiropractic research that is currently underway: from low-back pain trials and biomechanical assessments of manipulations skills, to some of the most sophisticated somatovisceral studies now being conducted. Attendees will learn about current investigations of chiropractic management of conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, infantile colic, migraine headaches, dysmenorrhea, otitis media, and preventive maintenance, kinesiology, and neuroplasticity.

The three-day convention will offer scientific lectures in the mornings, and hands-on workshops in the afternoons.

Among the 25 speakers scheduled: Drs. Howard Vernon, Gary Auerbach, Charles "Skip" Lantz, Patricia Brennan, Joanne Nyiendo, Joseph Keating Jr., and Leonard Faye.

A welcome reception by the lord mayor of Brussels, and the president of the Belgian Chiropractors' Union will be held Wednesday May 11th in the Gothic Room of the City Hall, a 15th century building.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty and culture of Brussels, sometimes referred to as the "capital of Europe," home to the headquarters of the European Common Market and European Parliament.
