New York College of Chiropractic recently announced that its proposal to add a Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging (MSDI) degree to its curriculum was approved by the New York State Department of Education.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be qualified to pursue many career options, including chiropractic radiology education, research, and chiropractic clinical radiology, as well as perform noninvasive, conventional and advanced imaging studies at the request of referring chiropractors. Graduates of the MSDI program will also be qualified to sit for the diplomate (DACBR) examination administered by the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology.

Life West Honors Student, Alumnus of the Year
The Life Chiropractic College West (LWCC) Alumni Association recently announced its selections for 2003 student and alumnus of the year. Ankur Prakash, a senior, was presented the award for student of the year during the SPA (Science, Philosophy, and Art) Day Conference, Oct. 16, for his outstanding academic performance and contributions to the college.
"It is truly an honor and a privilege to be a student here at Life Chiropractic College West," said Prakash, who has served as a student council representative for eight quarters and as a contributing writer for the student newspaper, LifeLines. Prakash is also the founding member of the Student International Chiropractors Association Council on Chiropractic Philosophy.
On Oct. 18, Craig Weinston, DC, was named LWCC's Alumnus of the Year at the college's annual homecoming dinner for his myriad contributions to the chiropractic community. Since graduating magna cum laude from LWCC in 1991, Dr. Weinston has mentored students and donated time as a campus seminar speaker and recruiter. He also operates a successful private practice and serves on various community organizations, including the Walnut Creek Wellness Center and the Contra Costa County Battered Women's Alternative.
National University President Visits Chiropractic College "Across the Pond"
In November, National University of Health Science (NUHS) President James Winterstein, DC, visited the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth, England, where he delivered the commencement and homecoming addresses on professional conduct and clinical radiology, respectively. During the visit, Dr. Winterstein noted the similarities between AECC and NUHS, including their shared belief in the broad scope of chiropractic medicine.
This is Dr. Winterstein's second visit to England; during his last visit in 1991, he had the opportunity to meet the late Princess Diana.
Christian Chiropractors Association Announces New Campus Ministry
The Christian Chiropractors Association is asking its members to volunteer as campus chaplains at each chiropractic college to mentor Christian students in the application of their faith to the chiropractic profession.
