US Navy Ads Seek DCs in California, Florida and North Carolina

Target date for Department of Defense Chiropractic Demonstration Project is Aug. 1, 1995

By Editorial Staff
The Unites States Navy has recently placed advertisements seeking chiropractors and chiropractic assistants to work at Camp Pendleton, California, Jacksonville Navel Hospital, Florida, and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina as part of the Chiropractic Health Care Demonstration Program (CHCDP).

Two DCs and two clinical/administrative support personnel will be hired at each of the 10 military (Naval, Army, and Air Force) hospital sites slated for the demonstration project (see 5-22 issue of "DC").

The DCs and CAs will be caring for active-duty members, retirees and their families. This very important project will significantly determine chiropractic's future in the Unites States military.

Minimum requirements, as specified in the Navy ads, are graduation from a CCE accredited college, current licensure with at least two years of practice in the last 36 months, and being an acceptable malpractice risk. Benefits include 10 paid holidays, 13 days of annual sick leave, and malpractice insurance.
