On January 20, the board of directors of the International Chiropractors Association voted unanimously to continue their financial sponsorship for the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE). The ICA board agreed to grant CCE a total of $86,000 in 1990 at their board meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition to the general support grant, the ICA board approved an additional legal expense grant of $10,200 to help the CCE defray recent extraordinary legal expenses.
ICA is unique among chiropractic professional organizations in that five chiropractic college presidents serve on ICA's board of directors, with six colleges affiliated with ICA. The six ICA affiliated colleges represent 47% of the chiropractic students in the U.S.
The five college presidents serving on ICA's board include: Dr. Gerard W. Clum, president of Life Chiropractic College-West, San Lorenzo, California; Dr. Sid E. Williams, president of Life College, Marietta, Georgia; Dr. Carl S. Cleveland, Jr., president of Cleveland College of Chiropractic-Los Angeles, California; Dr. John L. Miller, president of Palmer College of Chiropractic-West, Sunnyvale, California; and Dr. Donald P. Kern, president of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa.
"ICA's continued support for CCE is an important priority for us," commented Fred Barge, president of ICA. "Besides the fact that 95% of our members are graduates of CCE schools, the ICA board of directors feel that support of CCE is essential to maintaining the standards necessary for educating and training future doctors of chiropractic."
