Arthur Croft has been actively involved in whiplash research for the past 16 years and developed the internationally adopted whiplash grading system, otherwise known as the Quebec Task Force Grading System. Dr. Croft is the director of the Spine Research Institute in San Diego, California and has headed numerous RAND research projects.

Dr. Croft authored the bestselling textbook Whiplash Injuries: the Cervical Acceleration/Deceleration Syndrome; co-authored Whiplash and Temporomandibular Disorders: an Interdisciplinary Approach to Case Management; and has written several other books, textbook chapters, an Emmy-nominated video, and software/multimedia titles. Dr. Croft has also written over 200 professional papers and has served as a regular columnist for Dynamic Chiropractic since 1992.

Dr. Croft serves on the journal editorial boards of several professional organizations, including the Society of Automotive Engineers and the National Institute of Health. Dr. Croft is a certified accident reconstructionist and is finishing his masters in public health from Loma Linda University.
