Professional supplement manufacturer Integrative Therapeutics announced three new student representatives this month.
“Our Student Representative program was created in January 2012 as a way for us to further support and connect with integrative medicine students,” explains Skyla Vandervest, the Education and Events Manager for Integrative Therapeutics. “Student reps have a unique opportunity to grow their knowledge about nutritional supplements and interact with experts in the integrative medicine community.”
The students participating in this program attend different universities across the country and are pursuing careers focused on various integrative treatment modalities. They include:
Jessica Folz - Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in Tempe, AZ
Bonnie Brock - National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Chicago, IL
Adam Ebbers - Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU) in Bloomington, MN
Jessica Folz is beginning her 7th quarter at SCNM where she is a member of the Naturopathic Society, as well as being a Research Assistant within the Curriculum Development and Academic Assessment Department. She completed her undergraduate education from the University of Cincinnati in 2011, earning a BS in Biology, a BA in Psychology, and an Associate’s degree in Food and Nutrition. Jessica is currently enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's online health coaching program and will be a certified Holistic Health Coach in October 2013.
Bonnie Brock is a second-year naturopathic medical student at NUHS. She has also begun studies toward her Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Both her undergraduate degree in Nutritional Science from Cornell University and her Masters of Public Health degree from Tulane University broaden her knowledge and expertise in the field of nutritional therapeutics and modalities.
Adam Ebbers is a Chiropractic student at NWHSU. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from South Dakota State University where he majored in Human Nutrition and minored in Chemistry. His interest in preventative and conservative care drew him to study Chiropractic at Northwestern where he also is a tutor available to students in the classes below him.
As student representatives, their primary role will be providing peers with information regarding the educational opportunities, professional resources, and natural medicines available through Integrative Therapeutics.
“The Student Representative Program is just one of many ways we are connecting with students,” explains Vandervest, “In addition to wholesale pricing, we offer several student-specific opportunities, including the STAIRSM Integrative Residency Program, the Starter Dispensary Program and a gift for new grads!
