    Sombra Cosmetics Announces the Hiring of Two Executives
    

    


    Albuquerque, NM – Sept.  11, 2015 - Sombra Cosmetics, an Albuquerque-based manufacturer of natural therapeutic products for the professional and consumer markets, announces the hiring of two senior executives. Alfredo Cortazar, the founder and CEO of Sombra, explains, "It is difficult to find the right talent to ensure the prosperity of any company.  Since we are poised for growth, such talent is especially important."  Mr. Cortazar was trained as a chemist in Mexico and founded Sombra in 1974.  He has built the company into a multi-million dollar employer of 25 that sells its topical analgesics, massage lotions and ultrasound gels worldwide.

    Formerly the President of his own marketing consulting firm, Mr. Sandweiss brings 25 years in marketing, HR, and operations within the private, education and non-profit sectors.  He served as Vice President of Marketing for a $500MM credit union, Product Manager for a unit of Mars, Inc., and as an associate with Hay Management Consultants. He holds an MBA from UCLA, an MA from Bowling Green State University and a BA from University of Michigan.  He is also board president at Pathways Academy and board president-elect at Family Promise of Albuquerque.
    


    Frank G. Becerra., Director of Research and Development
    


    Formerly Vice President of Research & Development at Lysium, a cosmetics company in Florida, Mr. Becerra brings over 25 years of research, regulatory and operational experience in the personal care, OTC drugs and prescription pharmaceutical industries. He also worked at Clairol's research and development division and at Epicept as Director of Pharmaceutical Development. Mr. Becerra holds a BS degree in Chemistry and Biology.  He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and the American Society for Quality.
