PALMYRA, Wis. (August 2, 2016)— Standard Process Inc., a visionary leader in whole food nutrient solutions, proudly supports educational institutions that prepare students for a future in healthcare. On July 22, Standard Process President Charles C. DuBois joined students, faculty and staff at the Life Chiropractic College West (Life West) campus in Hayward, California, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony signifying the official opening of the Standard Process Assembly Hall. Standard Process was the primary supporter of the college’s capital campaign to revamp and expand the assembly hall, committing $500,000 to the project.
“It gives me great pleasure that Standard Process is in a position to help Life Chiropractic College West build this beautiful assembly hall,” said DuBois. “The Standard Process Assembly Hall is a great space and I hope it will serve as a place where the students, faculty, staff and families of Life West will be able to experience many enjoyable activities over the years.”
By enhancing and expanding their assembly hall, Life West will have the proper space for events such as seminars, student gatherings and graduation.
The new assembly hall was not the only thing being celebrated at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Standard Process and Life West also honored the 2016 Dr. Michael Dobbins Excellence in Nutrition Education Scholarship winner, Eva Tang. The $10,000 scholarship was established by Standard Process in honor of chiropractor and Life West alumnus, Michael Dobbins. Tang is in her eleventh quarter at Life West and is the seventh student to receive this honor.
“It is an honor to receive the Dr. Michael Dobbins Excellence in Nutrition Education scholarship and join so many incredible student leaders who have come before me,” said Tang. “I want to thank Standard Process for their continued support of students, the chiropractic profession and promoting health and wellness on a national scale.”
This year’s essay question asked scholarship applicants to identify a complex nutrition topic they believe is under-explained to patients and detail how they will address the topic in their future practice. Tang also had to have at least three quarters of education remaining before her graduation, a cumulative grade point average of 2.9 or higher, a list of contributions, and a recommendation letter.
Standard Process goes above and beyond to support future health care professionals. This year alone, Standard Process has donated $90,000 in educational scholarships, and more than $1,000,000 in capital campaign gifts to expand chiropractic and other health care educational institutions.
