AUSTIN, Texas – April 18, 2013 – Texas Health and Science University has received word that it will be honored with a Community Partnership Award from the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network, and the Center for Asian American studies at The University of Texas at Austin. “We are very proud to receive this recognition!” says Lisa Ping Hui Lin, E.M.B.A., President and Chief Executive Officer. The award will be presented on Monday, May 6th from 6-8 p.m. at the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center on the UT campus. Honorees are those whose work and achievements have enriched and transformed the culture, health, society and economy of this state, shepherding its progress toward a more diverse and prosperous future.
Texas Health and Science University is a comprehensive, for-profit educational institution advised by a volunteer Board of Governors. The University is the successor to Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first school of Acupuncture in the State of Texas, established in 1990. The school is a leader in providing advanced education in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Herbology. The Master’s degree program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), since 1996. ACAOM is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of programs preparing Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine practitioners. The institution is also awarded an initial grant of accreditation for the Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Headquartered in the Austin, Texas region, USA, the University offers a Dual Master’s Degree program with Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, and has sister school relationships with seven institutions in Taiwan and China.
