Texas Health and Science University Approved to Offer MBA and MBA in Healthcare Management
AUSTIN, Texas – July 1, 2013 – Texas Health and Science University (THSU) announces New Program Approval by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) for two new master’s degree programs to be offered by the University, Master of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management. The proposed start date for both programs is September 3, 2013. “I am so proud of our latest accomplishment,” says Lisa Ping-Hui Lin, E.M.B.A., President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our administrative staff have worked hard to reach this new milestone in our strategic initiative to achieve another ‘first’ as an educational institution, which serves the global student market.”
The College of Business Sciences MBA and MBA in Healthcare Management programs are intensive, 16-month and 20-month residential full time programs with classes offered primarily during the evenings and weekends. The programs are designed for individuals who wish to pursue graduate management studies to better prepare themselves for a career in business. The emphasis is to deliver contemporary best practices in a wide range of business-related disciplines as well as build team skills. Distinctive features of the new programs include:
· Applications for study are accepted year round;
· Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree;
· Students have the ability to leverage knowledge acquired during the core MBA program for an optional specialization in Healthcare Management;
· There is No GMAT and No GRE required for admission to the programs.
Texas Health and Science University is a comprehensive, for-profit educational institution advised by a volunteer Board of Governors. The University was formerly the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first school of Acupuncture in the State of Texas, established in 1990. The school offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The University has been accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) since 1996. It is also the first institution in the nation to be awarded an initial grant of accreditation for the Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by the 100-year-old Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The University offers a 70-Hour Acudetox Training Program for licensed health care professionals approved by the Texas Medical Board. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA, the University offers Dual Degree programs at both the master’s and doctoral levels with Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, and has sister school relationships with seven institutions in Taiwan and China.
The University recently expanded its program offerings with the development of the College of Business Sciences, which offers the new Master of Business Administration degree and MBA in Healthcare Management programs. The Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree program will begin January 2014.
