Foot Levelers to Sponsor Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run

ROANOKE, Virginia—Foot Levelers will once again be a sponsor of the Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run/Walk in Roanoke, Virginia. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, December 14th and will start in Downtown Roanoke. Proceeds from the event go towards the fight against arthritis, the nation’s leading cause of disability. This year marks the 23^rd consecutive year Roanoke has hosted one of the 140 Jingle Bell Run/Walk events nationwide.

Named one of the top-21 “Most Incredible Themed Races” by greatist.com, the Jingle Bell Run/Walk is an event featuring a 5k run or 1-mile walk for which participants are encouraged to wear holiday themed costumes, tie bells to their shoelaces, or do anything else to get into the holiday and giving spirit. The fun and spirited vibe of the event underlies the seriousness of arthritis, a disability the Arthritis Foundation estimates afflicts up to 50 million Americans, including over 300,000 children.

Foot Levelers is dedicated to working with the Arthritis Foundation to help achieve its goals and visions, as Chairman and CEO Kent S. Greenawalt notes, “Helping people live their lives pain free has always been a goal of Foot Levelers, so sponsoring the Jingle Bell Run again this year was a top priority. We are thrilled to be working with the Arthritis Foundation to achieve its mission of improving lives through prevention, control, and cure of arthritis.”

The fundraising goal for this year’s Roanoke Jingle Bell Run/Walk is $100,000. Proceeds go towards arthritis research, advocacy, programs and services, and awareness.
