PALMYRA, Wis. (October 8, 2015)—Standard Process Inc. believes in being a catalyst for change, one that helps others commit to leading a healthier lifestyle. The company, headquartered in Palmyra, Wisconsin, partners with U.S. colleges and universities to assist students who are pursuing careers in chiropractic or acupuncture care in learning more about nutrition. Most recently, Standard Process gave $17,500 in scholarships to students attending Southern California University of Health Sciences in Whittier, California. The latest SCUHS students to earn Standard Process scholarships are Jeff Choi and Meghan Gray.
“Being able to provide scholarship to students who have committed themselves to a future in holistic health care is an incredible experience for us,” said Chiropractor John Nab, director of professional development at Standard Process. “These students embrace the whole food philosophy of Standard Process and are excited to teach others how to better care for their bodies with good nutrition, chiropractic and acupuncture care.”
Choi, a ninth trimester chiropractic student, is the recipient of the Dr. Robert Curry Scholarship. The scholarship provides a $10,000 scholarship once a year to a full-time student studying chiropractic, acupuncture or oriental medicine programs.
The Dr. Robert Curry Scholarship was a five-year commitment, established in 2010, to provide a scholarship each year in honor of former Standard Process distributor, chiropractor and SCUHS alum Robert Curry. Curry was dedicated to educating fellow practitioners on the value of using whole food nutrition to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Meghan Gray received a $2,500 scholarship from Standard Process for her pursuit of a career in acupuncture. Gray is in her sixth trimester as a student in the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at SCUHS. Standard Process began awarding scholarships to acupuncture students in 2013.
In addition to Choi and Gray, Garet Davis and Brittany Treadway, both eight trimester chiropractic students, also received $2,500 scholarships from Standard Process earlier in the school year.
