Standard Process Inc. Names D'Youville College Scholarship Recipient

PALMYRA, Wis. (June 15, 2016)—Joseph Colasuonno, a doctor of chiropractic student at D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York, is the recipient of a $2,500 scholarship from visionary leader in whole food nutrient solutions Standard Process Inc. Based in Palmyra, Wisconsin, Standard Process works closely with universities throughout the country to present scholarships to students studying alternative health care.

 

“Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of health and wellness in society,” said Colasuonno. “I hope to use my abilities when I graduate to help end nutrition myths and better serve patients in the community.”

 

Standard Process has presented scholarships to D’Youville students since 2013. The company believes that if the next generation of chiropractors and other health care professionals learn nutritional concepts while in school, they will be prepared to influence positive lifestyle changes to transform patients’ lives in the future.

 

“With a main focus on prevention, a lot of people take it upon themselves to do their own research on what is deemed healthy,” said Calasuonno. “Nutrition education is on the rise, so it is crucial that the population gets their nutrition education from reputable sources.”
 

 

D’Youville students that apply for a Standard Process scholarship must submit a written essay regarding a nutritional topic. This year’s essay question asked applicants to discuss how they will guide patients around the top five nutrition myths. In addition to the essay requirement, scholarship applicants need to:
 

• Have at least one trimester remaining before graduation

• Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.9 or higher

• Provide a list of their contributions to the profession, the colege,and the community

• Provide a letter of recommendation
